PCC rules
This is a charitable event. Remember, we are here to compete, have fun, and hopefully change a few lives. There will be media coverage present, in addition to passersby, most of whom have never seen anything like this. Please remember to have a good time, and have respect for your surroundings.
ALL rounds will be played on the 2008 courses. All games will be set at $5, including prize play. There will be a 3-course qualifier on Saturday, which will determine the seeding of 128 players, 64 in the main bracket and 64 in the purple bracket.
The qualifying courses will be Bayou Bay, Cypress Cove and Summit Lake.
GAME PLAY
1. Please do not tap in other players' putts. Don't tap in 2-foot putts, 2-meter putts, or 6-inch putts. You never know what will happen with the putting. DO NOT TAP IN!! You will receive a 2-stroke penalty for tapping in (if you get caught), whether or not you make the putt.
2. In case of power outage, or general machine malfunction, play will be restarted, then resumed at the beginning of the hole on which the malfunction occurred.
3. Keep a reasonable game pace. There is a lot of Golden Tee to be played this weekend, so keep your cell phone conversations to a minimum, use the restroom between rounds, and cheer on your fellow players!
4. If players competing on a machine agree that the trackball is bad, find an official. Once the round has been completed, the official will use the machine's diagnostic test to determine if the ball is bad. If it is, it will be replaced. If it's not, suck it up and accept the results. Food and sweaty palms can make a trackball feel bad. Please eat between matches, and don't let your palms sweat.
5. You will have a 5-minute grace period after your name is called to get to the appropriate machine. Please don't make us forfeit your match.
6. In case of a tie, the winner will be declared in a sudden death match, using the back 9 of the same course.
7. Courses during match play will be determined by spinning the trackball. The higher seeded player will decide who tees off first. If you both agree not to play Eagle Crest, all the power to you.
8. If you forget to change your clubs/balls, you are out of luck. You are responsible for your club and ball selection.
The Calcutta will be conducted online for this tournament. Ben Zeidenberg will be taking care of the tech side, beginning Thursday-ish. What I need from
you guys is the correct names for the people on the list. At least half of the names I already know, but I don't know who "Sweaty Balls" is, for
example. If you see a name that needs to be corrected, please post Pony = Anthony Goertz, e.g. This will help a lot.
YOU DON'T NEED TO ATTEND TO BUY SOMEONE. There will be three ways to pay: cash (preferred method), check or Paypal. I will be collecting cash at
registration at the PCC. Paypallers should use my email: jahahaha@netzero.com. To send a check, see the address
further down the thread. Cash is king, though. If at all possible, let's keep it simple. The whole paypal/check thing could get hairy trying to make
sure money gets into the account 3 days prior plus 2.9% transaction fee etc.
More details to come on Thursday. Thanks to Ben for setting this up.
PCC website
We will be doing a single elimination purple bracket. 64 people (max) will be able to compete for a chance to win an NIV entry, in addition to cash prizes and
some other cool stuff.
Hobson Travel will be donating a $200 travel voucher. Hobson Travel is the company that has taken care of players who have travelled to Player of the Year
tournaments and Golden Tee World Championships.

DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL THREAD:
http://underdogsports34482.yuku.com/topic/433
IT is being generous enough to provide technical support for the PCC-St. Louis/WVGA International GT Tournament. They will
also be kicking $5000 into the prize pool......and some additional prizes.
Midi will be auctioning off the right to cut her hair at the tournament. The hair will be given to Locks Of Love. We'll give out a few more details as it
gets closer.
Also, a big thank you to Jason Kendrick and GameTime Amusements for providing Golden Tee machines for this tournament.
The new/improved St. Louis tournament will be the next major charity event, sponsoring the Make-A-Wish foundation.
This will also be the WVGA International Golden Tee Championship. We hope to have representatives from such faraway exotic places as Australia, Canada,
England, and Vermont.
Dates: February 22, 23, 24 2008
Location: Side Pockets of St. Charles (near St. Louis, MO)
Entry Fee: $125
This will be, first and foremost, a charity event, benefitting VG4U. 10% of the total entry fees will be given to the charity. There will be a silent auction,
with proceeds going directly to VG4U. Obviously, more donations will be appreciated, but certainly not expected.
Side Pockets will be adding $5000 to the prize pool.
This will be a 64-man double elimination tournament.
The expected MINIMUM payouts, based on 128 entries, will be about:
1st $4000
2nd $3000
3rd $1750
4th $1250
5-6 $1000
7-8 $750
9-12 $500
13-16 $400
17-24 $250
25-32 $150
33-48 $100
49-64 $50
The top score on each course during the qualifier will pay out $100.
The top qualifier will receive $200.
You will be allowed to use your player account. Due to the size of a 64-man DE tournament, we will start roughly an hour earlier than usual each day. I hope
this does not affect your beauty sleep.
Side Pockets has 20 pool tables, 1 Megatouch, 3 JVL touchscreens, Silver Strike, Big Buck Hunter, 5 dartboards, NTN trivia, 40 TVs, 4 big screens. It is
located 10 minutes west of the airport, and within walking distance of several hotels.
The bar will be open for game play at 9 am. However, there may not be waitri available to get drinks, food, etc. We'll work on that, though.
Consider this announcement a preliminary signup sheet. There is no cap for this tournament. The bigger the response, the better chance we have to make it even
bigger. Space is not an issue, believe me. So please mark this on your calendar, and sign up ASAP.
American Airlines has agreed to a 5% discount on flights. The code is A2628AN
New hotel info:
Best Western - $70 per night. 636-916-3000
Quality Inn - $60 per night. 636-946-6936
Both hotels are located in the same campus as Side Pockets. If you can walk across a large parking lot, you shouldn't have any problem getting to and from
the hotel.
If you are flying in and renting a car, call AVIS 1-888-754-8878 and use the discount code G028108 (those are zeroes).
My wife, Becky, will be happy to take wives/girlfriends shopping in the Old Town St. Charles district on Saturday, weather permitting. There are about 1/2 mile
of historic shops and restaurants very close to the bar.
If you would like to pay for your entry to the tournament via check, send it to:
Jeff Harlow
765 Washington St.
Florissant, MO 63031
If you would like to pay for your entry via PayPal, send $135 to:
jahahaha@netzero.com
(monies leftover after fees will be donated to VG4U)
